Trenches of Motherhood

It’s not all glitz and glam being in the trenches of motherhood. The guilt, the joy and pure exhaustion are all valid cycles of emotions that take their turn tormenting a mother throughout the day.  I recognize how incredibly strong and resilient mothers are now at 41 years of age.  The task of raising kids is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my adult life. Medical school was a breeze compared to being responsible for raising good humans.  I’d take organic chemistry twice over listening to who hit whom with what and where.

Superheroes

The truth is, I hadn’t stopped to recognize what my own mother sacrificed until I became a mother myself.  I didn’t fully appreciate all she had given up, mostly her own emotional wellbeing, until I stepped into the same role.  I now notice the mother in the store with the toddler screaming, somehow keeping it all together.  Grocery shopping with the little ones, even though we all know how much easier it would be to go alone.  A day to recognize mothers hardly seems enough.

Pop-up Events

Mothers deserve it all and on May 10th it’s all about celebrating the amazing moms in our lives.  In the spirit of celebrating mothers, I will be selling a few unique Mother’s Day boxes and soap sets in a special pop-up Mother’s Day event at Lindsay Taylor SPAtique on May 8th from 11am-2pm in Westborough, MA.   If you cannot make it that day and feel like heading over to Rhode Island, come find me at Lippitt Park in Providence RI on Saturday May 9th from 9am-1pm.  I will have all the usual great scented products for any and every loved one (including yourself) that may need some pampering.

I will use this blog to write about any future impromptu popup events, announcements etc.  A heartfelt thank you to all the mothers out there for all that you do.  We appreciate the care, compassion, and kindness you bring into the world, especially now more than ever.
